Pivot Steer Truck training in Nottingham
An articulated truck with a steering pivot behind the mast, giving a tight turning circle for narrow-aisle work with a counterbalance-style front end.
About pivot steer trucks
Pivot steer is the generic term the accrediting bodies use for articulated lift trucks, and in practice the category overlaps heavily with the Bendi and Flexi machines on our articulated forklift page. The common feature is a pivot between the mast section and the power unit so the truck can bring its forks round to the racking in an aisle far narrower than a conventional counterbalance could use.
Operators have to think about the truck as two parts. The rear section swings wide on turns, the forks move in an arc rather than a straight line when the pivot is used, and stability depends on where the pivot is set as well as where the load is. The course covers the articulation controls, how the truck behaves on the straight and in the turn, and the load chart for your machine.
If you are not sure whether your truck is a pivot steer, a Bendi or a Flexi for certificate purposes, send us the make and model and we will tell you which course applies and whether existing operators can convert.

Pivot Steer Truck training questions
Is pivot steer the same as Bendi?
The two overlap. Both are articulated trucks and both need their own certificate rather than a counterbalance one. We confirm the exact category for your make and model when we quote.
