Refresher Forklift Training in Nottingham
A one-day re-test and re-certification for experienced operators. The HSE recommends refresher training every three to five years and after any incident.
The HSE's L117 says refresher training should be provided at intervals, commonly every three to five years, and also after an accident or near miss, a long break from driving, a change of truck or workplace, or where an operator has picked up bad habits. A refresher is also the quickest way to bring a new starter's existing certificate into your own records.
The day re-covers the safety principles, stability and pre-use inspection, then watches each candidate drive. Bad habits are where the value is: travelling with raised forks, cutting corners, not looking behind, loads carried too far forward. They are pointed out, corrected and re-tested. Each candidate finishes with a theory test and a practical test and a new certificate.
If an operator's old certificate has expired or gone missing, a refresher with a full test is normally enough to re-establish their record. If you are unsure, send us what you have and we will advise.
